Hi! Sophia / 孙慧文 here.

I currently work at AWS. I got my PhD in Computer Science at UC San Diego, advised by prof. Rose Yu, with a thesis on probabilistic machine learning, uncertainty quantification, and decision making under uncertainty. I got my B.A. in mathematics and computer science from Wellesley College, and am fortunate to have interned at Google DeepMind, Amazon Robotics, and AWS AI.

I'm also interested in machine creativity and digital humanities. My band the SEALs makes music with DIY electronics and AI systems; I make robots to explore the relationship between human, nature, and machines.
